Crazy People Want to Kill You - Wake Up!

Sunday, August 6th, 2006

I am perpetually stunned by the people who squeal that the solution to terroristic threats as they pertain to America is to do just 2 things:

1. Pull out of Iraq, cut and run, and “bring the troops home.”

2. Be more engaged in a “dialogue” with Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, France, Palestine, etc.

1 - Liberals have long lived in the post hippie dreamworld that through philosophy, love and giving money to foreigners, we could live in a peaceful and safe utopia.

This is not a dream - it is an illusion. Fighting Islamic Fundamentalistic terrorism in the Middle East sure beats having them blow up a Starbucks in Boston. They are funded, trained, recruited, primarily in the middle east. Bush’s “drain the swamp” strategy is as right and powerful as the strategies that have prevented one single attack here in the US in more than 5 years.

To think this can be done in a few weeks is just dumb. It’s not a corporate team building exercise or ISO 9000 - it’s history - and will take a very long time. There is no intelligent alternative.

2 - Dialogue? With whom? What for? The “peaceful religion” of Islamic Fundamentalist terrorists is to wipe us out. It’s us or them - and although Sting says “never saw no military solution” in one of his songs - maybe he missed the fact that Hitler’s Nazi Arayan push for world domination was stopped by war.

John Kerry, who has miraculously been able to continue to get re-elected every six years while continously making a complete ass out of himself - reached the pinnacle of assininity when he said that if he had been elected the Israeli-Lebanon conflict would not have occurred.

Trying to imagine a world with Kerry as president makes my brain hurt and is only surpassed by the nutty thought that Hillary Clinton would be a good choice to run the United States.

Barbra Streisand sued by her FANS?

Saturday, July 15th, 2006

Yes, it is true.

Only in America would it even be conceivable that your greatest fans and supporters would file a lawsuit against you - `en masse.

You remember that Streisand charged a boatload of money a few years ago for her farewell tour. I believe the big show ended with a multi-night extravaganza in Vegas.

Babs was saying goodbye to live appearances and her grueling (not) concert schedule. So she charged a blue fortune for tickets and her biggest fans ponied up to hear her sing “The Way We Were” and other big hits.

They came, they saw, she sang, she sweated, they laughed, they cried, they paid through the nose.

The reviews were great - all was well in Mudville.

BUTT - Streisand recently decided she wanted to tour again. The usual suspects were rounded up, posters made, Ticketmaster alerted, venues booked and the PR machine began to spin.

Now you would THINK that the people who would be happiest about Streisand’s return to the stage would be the people who went to the greatest lengths, flew to other cities and bought the E tickets to see the diva perform.

Not so.

In fact, they are so not the happiest on who-ville - they are ANGRY!

Organizing a class action suit against Ms. Streisand are fans actually honked-off because they paid thousands of dollars for what was supposed to be her last show. Wow!

Why is she touring again - her words:

‘’The increasingly urgent need for private-citizen support to combat dangerous climate change, along with education and health issues was the prime reason I decided to tour again. This will allow me to direct funds and awareness to causes that I care deeply about.'’

Right, God protect us from the “causes” she is planning on donating to. As her private jet sucks jet fuel and regurgitates ozone killing fumes, and joins with the vapors created by the SUVs by Cadillas, BMS, Lexus et-al - she will be making a great contrubution to the fictitous invisible hole in the air.

I hear you can get a bargain seat at her Bush bashing political sideshow with an obstructed view for only $5000 each - so $10,000 for the pair and there’s dinner and…

It takes a LOT for me to feel sorry for Barbra Streisand but I have to think that any “fan” of an entertainer who would actually consider for a moment to sue her for returing to the stage is mentally retarded. But then, perhaps there is more than a coincidental resemblance to that action - and the previous act of purchasing the farewell ticket in the first place.

People. People who sue people. Are the most irritating people… in …. the world.
