Even though it is only 3 months old, Press Release Monkey has a bizarre story already.

2 weeks after launching we got a PR7 assigned to us by Google.

In the following month we had more than 1,500 articles, press releases and posts made to the site.

We also got hundreds of inbound links from wonderful people like you!

With a flood of traffic - and a happy shiny monkey image - we also began to see that the translation buttons on the site, (see the little flags up in the corner?) were benefitting us and the people who posted here, in an amazing way.

The search engines were crawling those links on the individual pages and indexing your post in multiple foreign languages. This means you got a 7X benefit from posting here - and traffic from all over the place!

THEN TRAGEDY STRUCK

On June 1st, the server was hacked and destroyed - we had to do a full format of the server and lost every bit of data and all the posts to the site. During this time, the Google did it’s PR Update crawl and with the Monkey down - it changed the VISIBLE PR TOOLBAR to PR0.

NOTE: The VISIBLE PR toolbar is only a “window dressing” function of the Google search engine. They only change it about every 2-3 months - and it is know to be a weird rating, showing a number between 0-10 that actually represents a MUCH larger range.
